Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Spread the love

Non-Surgical RhinoplastyNon-surgical rhinoplasty is a dermal filler procedure which can improve the shape of your nose. The procedure involves injectable fillers and results can last for as long as 6 months. It’s recommended for people looking to make their nose appear less angular and to smooth out the bumps.

The procedure is for patients that are not yet ready for a long-lasting surgical solution or are worried about the recovery time and inherent risks involved in nose surgery. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Eugene Kim provides surgical as well as non-surgical rhinoplasty to patients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and surrounding communities.

How Does Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Work?

Liquid rhinoplasty involves injecting one or more dermal fillers. This is a gel-like injectable substance, usually containing hyaluronic acid. The filler is inserted underneath the nasal skin in areas where you want to enhance volume or smooth aging lines. Dermal fillers can be used for changing the shape of the nose on a temporary basis.

In some cases, Botox may be used during nonsurgical rhinoplasty as well. The filler ingredient settles into the deeper skin layers and holds shape to give you the results you need. You can change the appearance of your nose from 4 months to up to 3 years depending on the type of dermal filler used.

Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty Procedure

Your doctor will explain the procedure during the initial consultation. You will be asked to lie down with your face tilted. The surgeon may apply topical anesthetic to your nose to prevent any discomfort from the needle. Once the area is suitably numbed, the doctor will inject the dermal filler into the bridge of the nose. You may feel a slight pressure or pinching when this is being done. The whole process can be completed in 15 – 45 minutes.

Targeted Areas in Liquid Rhinoplasty

Nonsurgical rhinoplasty targets the tip, bridge, and sides of the nose. Dermal filler can be injected in any part to modify the shape of the nose. The procedure can achieve the following:

  • Make the tip more prominent
  • Smooth out small bumps
  • Add volume
  • Lift the tip

In addition, the procedure can camouflage a mild prominent bump on the nasal bridge and smooth the contours of the nose. You won’t be able to smooth out prominent bumps or get your nose to look smaller with a liquid rhinoplasty.

Side Effects and Risks

Redness and sensitivity are the only side effects of liquid rhinoplasty for most people. Moreover, other possible side effects include:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising at the injection site
  • Filler migration which means the dermal filler ingredient shift to another part of the nose or under-eye area creating a wavy look
  • Nausea

The nose is filled with blood vessels and is one of the most sensitive facial features. It is also located near the eyes, which makes it necessary to always seek an accomplished cosmetic surgeon for the injectable procedure.

Trained doctors will always err on the side of caution and use controlled filler gel volumes to avoid complications. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Eugene Kim receives patients from Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and nearby areas for surgical and non-surgical rhinoplasty.
