Liposuction For Your Love Handles

Spread the love

Liposuction For Your Love HandlesThe love handles or flanks refer to the side of the body between the ribs and the hip. Localized fat deposits tend to develop in this area. Sometimes, this fat may occur due to weight gain. In such cases, diet and exercise can effectively address the fat.

However, sometimes these so-called love handles occur due to genetic factors. Unfortunately, in such cases, a person has very limited natural treatment options to get rid of this fat.

The good news is that the flanks have various characteristics that make them very responsive to less invasive liposuction cosmetic surgery techniques. The area is well-defined, which means that even a slight fat reduction offers dramatic results.

In addition, the skin in the flanks is typically quite elastic. This enables it to mold to new, tauter contours after liposuction surgery. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Eugene Kim provides liposuction of the love handles to patients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and surrounding communities.

How do Love Handles Occur?

Love handles develop due to various reasons including pregnancy, aging, hormonal fluctuations, sedentary lifestyle, or genetic predisposition. Some of these causes are beyond one’s control. However, liposuction offers an elegant solution to eliminate love handles.

On top of this, the annoying fat deposits will likely never return following liposuction for love handles. Liposuction eliminates fat cells permanently, and patients can be rid of the menace of love handles for good.

If the patient puts on a large amount of weight after their liposuction cosmetic surgery procedure, the remaining fat cells in the treated area and other parts of the body will become bigger.

Liposuction is not a procedure meant for weight loss or addressing obesity. Therefore, patients should consider liposuction surgery only for the treatment of specific areas of fat on the body, such as love handles.

Advantages of Flank Liposuction

  • Well-defined contours
  • Slimmer body shape
  • As flanks influence clothing size, the patient may go down a size or two following flank liposuction
  • Less invasive procedure with significantly shorter recovery times in comparison to more invasive liposuction techniques
  • Very safe procedure performed only under local anesthesia

Procedure

The surgeon will use a device, known as a cannula, to perform flank liposuction. A cannula is a narrow, steel tube that the surgeon delicately inserts into the fat layer of the back.

They disintegrate the fat cells by moving the cannula back and forth slowly through the layer of fat while remaining perfectly parallel to the skin. These dislodged fat cells are then suctioned out of the body through the cannula.

Similar to every procedure the surgeon delivers, flank liposuction is also undertaken with minimally invasive tumescent liposuction. Only local anesthetic is used during the entire procedure.

The patient is not unconscious, and the procedure leads to quicker healing and better outcomes in comparison to more invasive liposuction techniques.

Flank liposuction creates different outcomes in men and women. This procedure enhances the feminine figure when the surgeon delivers it to women.

It creates a beautiful S-shaped curve to the lower back region which accentuates the shape of the buttocks as well. Flank liposuction produces more of a V-shape in men when viewing from the back. In general, flank reduction offers men a slimmer and fitter appearance.

The surgeon evaluates all factors related to the patient’s case such as skin elasticity and body proportions during the entire process. This not only creates beautiful results but also offers outcomes that are unique to the patient.
