Breastfeeding after a Breast Lift

Spread the love

There are many lifestyle factors which must be considered before you decide to undergo a breast lift. One of these factors is whether you plan on having children in the future. It is important to discuss any future pregnancy plans with Dr. Kim at your initial consultation so that you can make a fully informed decision as to whether this is the right time in your life to have a breast lift performed.

In most cases, your breast lift will not impact your ability to breastfeed in the future since your milk ducts and nerves will remain intact throughout the procedure. However, on rare occasions, a breast lift can result in damage to the milk ducts which might cause you to experience a reduction in your milk production.

However, there are other issues associated with breastfeeding that must be considered before moving forward with your breast lift. Your breasts will grow and expand temporarily while you are breastfeeding. This can adversely impact the results of your procedure, causing your breasts to experience premature sagging once you are done breastfeeding. For this reason, Dr. Kim will generally recommend waiting until you are done having children before you get your breast lift.
